True Color

This term is used to describe the “real” or “correct” color. However, there is no such thing as True Color. Color is not a physical property of an object and is not an inherent property of a Spectrum. The conversion of light to a color depends completely on the visual system of the observer and there is nothing “false” about the vision of a Dichromat compared to a Color Normal.

Colors are generally defined according to the Standard Observer. These colors may be presented as standard, normal or typical, but not are not “true”, “real” or “correct”.
