An abstract mathematical model describing a way colors can be represented numerically. Color models can be based on physics or human perception. Physical descriptions of color can be additive (describes mixing of light, e.g. RGB) or subtractive (describes mixing of pigment or removal of light, e.g. CMYK). Models based on human perception are based on some experimental results on humans.
When all of the variables of a model are defined, the resulting set of colors is called a Color Space. For example, RGB is a Color Model that forms the framework for the sRGB and Adobe RGB Color Spaces, each of which have different several different parameters.
