Equal Energy White
The “true” definition of white, which contains equal energy at every Wavelength. The Spectrum is therefore a horizontal line. The color of EEW is the Neutral Point (or White Point). However, Equal Energy White has Metamers that are also on the Neutral Point (they have the same Tristimulus Values in CIEXYZ Color Space), but have far different Spectra. A good example is the white light from Fluorescent bulbs which has a much more ‘jagged’ Spectrum and therefore a worse Color Rendering Index. EEW is also different from other colors on the Planckian Locus, which are often described as white (such as D65).
