Grellow

A portmanteau of green and yellow. Individuals with red-green colorblindness have difficulty (or cannot) differentiating between green and yellow, as they are Metamers. Green and Yellow are therefore often referred to as a single color called Grellow to account for the speaker’s uncertainty.

Standard (banana) shades of yellow are confused with neon greens, whereas darker mustard yellows are confused with standard (grass) shades of green. Since bright yellows and grass greens are much more common than the alternatives in both nature and culture, the colorblind can usually correctly guess whether an observed Grellow is green or yellow based on the shade alone, despite the Chromaticities appearing identical.
