Eyeborg

A device (body modification apparatus) that is designed to allow people to perceive color through sound waves. A head-mounted sensor detects the color of an object and converts it in real-time into sound waves through bone conduction. The first eyeborg was created in England in 2003 by Adam Montandon in collaboration with Achromat artist Neil Harbisson.

A common variant of the Eyeborg translates the color into HSV Color Space, then maps the Hue (0-360°) to a pitch (within a single octave) and the saturation to amplitude (volume).
